PROLENE™ Monofilament Suture, Size 0, is a sterile, nonabsorbable surgical suture composed of an isotactic crystalline stereoisomer of polypropylene. This suture material is dyed blue to provide optimal visibility during surgical procedures. The monofilament construction contributes to reduced tissue drag and minimal tissue trauma during placement.

This suture is designed for use in general soft tissue approximation and ligation. It is suitable for procedures involving cardiovascular, ophthalmic, and neurological tissues. Prolene™ sutures are especially beneficial in skin closure applications due to their smooth surface and non-adherent properties, which facilitate easy removal and reduce the risk of tissue irritation or adherence.

The product is armed with a CT-1 taper point needle, allowing precise placement with minimal trauma. The needle’s 36 mm length and 1/2 circle curvature provide effective handling characteristics, particularly in deep or delicate tissues. The suture's monofilament structure ensures resistance to harboring bacteria and contributes to lower infection risk.
